It seems that Safari is much weaker...

Hey there,

Basically, ever since I upgraded to Tiger, Safari has been much weaker. I used to open about 8 tabs and it'd be fine (on version 1.2 and 1.3) but on 2.0 if I have 5 tabs the beachball appears most of the time, it takes about 5 seconds to carry out every thing I do, and most of the time, it quits. Heck, it even quit when I was just scrolling down a page. The beachball appeared, and I got the Application Closed error.

Mergh, repaired permissions. What else? 10.4.1. didn't help either.

I don't seem to have that problem, what kind of machine do you have?

I opened about 8 tabs with my iBook and loaded some heavy pages like anandtech and newegg, it was a little slow when loading those pages but it didn't freeze or crash.

No add ons, tried deleting the plist file.

I have a 1.33 Ghz Powerbook with 512mb ram. Thing is, Safari barely even tries... it just locks up for about 3 seconds and closes.

I've got no such problems with Safari. And I normally have 8 - 12 tabs open. Did you do an upgrade to Tiger or a full install?

Full install.

Heck, it's closed so many times, it's given me a 'Try again' option, and reset all settings in Safari. I'm just about to try it with more tabs to see if it's fixed.

EDIT: Same problems.

Also, ever since Safari reset, I keep getting this when I close an app.

As it is started with default preferences (not the ones you set) the system asks you if you want to keep the old ones (you set) or the new, fresh generated ones.

If you notice your preferences were screwed up, and crashed the programm, it's the easy way to solve it
