iTunes Cover Art?

Okay, so I ripped a whole ton of my mp3s before iTunes 3 came out with the cover art feature. I suppose because it's ripped the id3 tags are locked or whatever. Is there a way to make these songs have modifiable cover art?

Fetch Art for iTunes gets the art, but AFAIK it's not easily modifiable since it's stored in the tags.
