itunes not finding blank cds

so ive been using the same cds for like the last year....and all of a sudden my itunes wont find the cd when i put it in. it shows it on the desktop but not in i tunes. i think this all started happening when i upgraded to the newest version....any ideas as to why this is happening?
 
Try going into System Preferences -> CDs & DVDs, and change "When you insert a blank CD" to "Ask what to do"
