Itunes organization

I like to make folders for all the bands I listen to and have all their albums in those folders. The way I typically do this is to create a new folder, drag each album individually into the playlist, then drag them each individually into the folder. Is there any faster way to do this? I thought that dragging and dropping a folder would essentially do the same thing, but it just creates a completely new playlist and just dumps all the songs, and things become very messy. Is there any way to mass dump and maintain organization, or am I screwed?

The best way is to let iTunes do this for you. As long as your songs are tagged correctly this method will place artist/album/track name into folders like that.

In iTunes open Preferences,
click on the advanced tab,
and under the general Menu select 'Keep iTunes Music Folder Organised' and this will create the folders as you want them.

You may have to rebuild your iTunes Library to make this work, or iTunes could be doing it in the background automatically (not sure), but just have a look in the Music Folder in the finder and see if new folders are being created. But I think if you simply just relaunch iTunes it should automatically rebuild the Library and place them into artist/album/songs folders

Good Luck :)
