iTunes playing to remote speakers plays for 10secs then stops for 5secs

This problem is driving me mad!!

When I play my iTunes from my G4 Quicksilver through my Airport Express remote speakers, music plays for a short while and then stops for a few seconds, then starts again then stops for a few more seconds then starts again and so on.

It never used to do this and playing iTunes from my MacBook is fine.

One interesting thing that I've discovered is that when i'm playing my iTunes thru the remote speakers, it seems to eat up practically ALL the bandwidth - my internet goes very, very slowly - the results of a broadband speed test drops from 2Mbps to 0.15Mbps and pages take forever to open.

I've downloaded iStumbler onto both my MacBook and my G4 to test my network and signal-to-noise ratio ... the graph at the top of the iStumbler display is very different on the 2 machines.

On the MacBook there is a smooth high orange part to the graph and a smooth low grey part.

On the G4, the graph zig-zags up and down between max and min every couple of seconds!!

Also the Inspector reveals very different results when running it on the G4 compared with the MacBook.

The results on the MacBook placed near the G4 are pretty constant:
Signal: 62%
Noise: 8%
Freq: 2422
Signal: -38 dBm
Noise: -97 dBm

However the Inspector on the G4 gives alternating lines of firstly:
Signal: 27%
Noise: 8%
Freq: -1
Signal: -76 dBm
Noise: -97 dBm

followed by:

Signal: 73%
Noise: 52%
Freq: 2422
Signal: nothing (blank not 0)
Noise: nothing (blank not 0)

Very strange - any Ideas???

Cheers

Sam
