Hello,
I just noticed a HUGE problem in iTunes. I have been unable to play certain songs. When I clicked on "get info", I see that the mp3 has been mysteriously renamed as a .jpg AND! (this is the strange part), random images from my drive have been assigned to represent the missing song. I do eventually find the audio files, but iTunes no longer references them, only the bogus jpeg images. This has turned my song library into a complete MESS and introduces hundreds of duplicates if I attempt re-drag the song files back into iTunes.
I think this started happening after I consolidated the library more than once this week. My external HD was not connected so podcasts and files were saved on my Mac HD. Did excessively library consolidation cause this?
Any ideas on a fix?
Thanks.
