is there a way to add the same artist name to several lines (tracks) at once instead of adding the artist one line at a time?

Highlight all the tracks you want to change the artist name on (shift + click if they are in order, Apple + Click if they are spread throughout the list) then press Apple + I . That will open the Info screen for the highlighted tracks. Enter the Artist name, click OK.
