Itunes4 Quits When Using My Ipod

I have upgraded to iTunes 4. Now, when ever I put my iPod mini in its cradle, Itunes quites and I get an unexpected error.

Other stats:
iBook 933MHz w/ 256 RAM
Mac OS X 10.3.9
Airport

This also occurred on my iMac 800MHz w/ 768 RAM
Mac OS X 10.3.9
Airport

I have the original silver Mini iPod and am using the firewire cradle - I have never had this problem until I upgraded to itunes 4.
