I have to install Jaguar on a blue iMac at 400MHz with firewire ports.
A guy told me that I have to update the firmware otherwise I can damage the logic board.
Is it true?

And what other things have I to do in order to make this Imac work properly?

depends on what version of os 9 it has now i think. but it probably will need firmware update(s).

you'll probaly want more than the stock ram as well. other than that, i don't think there's anything too special. if you have broadband, i would suggest just letting software update help you thru it. update os 9 til you are up to date to start. then put os x on and do it again thru x. you may need to switch your boots a few times to get all the updates in the correct order. at least that's the way it used to be done. it's been over a year since i've installed os x.

bull, i say.

i have an Indigo iMac DV 400MHv. Jag works beautifly on it.

never had to update any firmware, did i.

but i don't use classic/os 9 at all.

Thanks.

I can't connect the iMac to internet connection by now.
So do u know where I could find firmware update for this machine without using OS 9 soft update?
