jar launcher help

Okay i am trying to play on a runescape privet client and i cant open the jar file. I already have moparscape client downloaded and it works fine but when i try to open the countless other clients out there I get the "check console for error" thing. First of all i am completely computer illiterate. So i don't know what a console is or where to find it. I am confused, i mean if it works for one client why doesn't it work for the other. Please help me thanks.
 
Zipeg is an application that can open .jar files. It is free. You can extract files from the archive and examine them, edit them, and then put them back in and save the archive.
 
i actually already have zipeg but like I said, I am totally computer illiterate so if you could go into depth as to what i can and should do it would be greatly appreciated.
 
What are you trying to do with the .jar file? Are you trying to edit files in it? If so, you can open that file with Zipeg, drag the files out and drop them into a directory, edit them if necessary, then drop them back into the archive in the same place where you got them (the same subdirectory).
 
acually i don't really know what to do with the jar file. but all i know is how to make it work. I already have one runescape privet client to use but it's not as good as the other so i just want to know are there any tips you guys can give me to fiz the problem i have.
