Hi guys,

Does anyone know of any (preferably free) osx apps that can sucessfully join 2 avi files to make one larger file?

Ive tried using a program called Jigsaw that came from version tracker but it doesnt seem to do the job.

Any help would be much appreciated

Quicktime Pro can do it (tho i costs $30 for a licence):

Open up the second clip in QT and go to Edit > Select All.

Then go to Edit > Copy.

Open the first clip and place time slider at end, then go to Edit > Add To Movie. The second clip will be appended to the end of the first.

Go to File > Export and save the movie as 1.

Of course, QT can have a hard time opening AVIs, so you may need to get some codecs or convert the AVIs before doign this. If these movies are in XviD format, the process is very easy. Just download DivX Doctor II (free) and use it to very quickly convert a XviD to MOV (takes only a few minutes for an hour-long XviD AVI)
