All of a sudden, if I am typing something into a textbox or a newsgroup or email message, my cursor will suddenly jump to another line, or may suddenly select something I just typed, or may jump out of that window completely and go to somewhere else. This just started today. I was reading newsgroup messages with Thunderbird, wanted to look up something with Spotlight, and found that I was unable to get anything I typed in there to appear, and then began noticing the other problems with the cursor not staying put. I am having problems clicking on buttons with the pointing device as well. Is there anything I can do to fix that?
I tried reinstalling the last combo update for the OS (10.4.10), but that did not help. I also tried running Onyx to attempt to fix Spotlight and run the maintenance scripts, but that did not help either. I tried running a virus scan of the system, but that was negative. Since I have no clue where the problem is, I do not know what to try fixing.
