My story of the MXproDV mixer from Videonics;
I bought the mixer a little over 3-years ago, on the promise I would be able to plug it via firewire into a mac and use it as an input device. However this did not work, we tried everything from messing with extentions and using it on multiple computers in Mac OS9, and tried it in all verions of MacOSX too.
Nothing will recognise it as an input.
After talking to the company they said it should work if we sent it back for a firmware upgrade. This happened and when it returned, still no compatability.
It is a good mixer, for live events I have broadcast, the only way I could get an input into any mac, was through an analouge capture card.
Apple have this item as a recommended extra on the apple store, so I thought I should post my thoughts, so others know you can't use the firewire output on a mac.
