I do not own a Mac (currently, plan to though) , and purchased an Airport Extreme Base Station.

I've already opened the product. I haven't however, taken the shrinkwrapping off the Airport, nor opened the CD slip.

Before I do any of this, I want to make sure I will be able to use the Airport Extreme Base with my PC's (something I should've done previously).

At the moment, I do not have a G adapter (CompUSA was sold out :( ) for my PC, and the Dells I have on order do not come for a week or so, so basically there isn't any way to test it out.

The Base Station came with a Setup CD, with only the Mac logo on it. Can I still use this cd on my PC?

Did I screw up? Return it?

Just thought I'd mention... I had a look at the Configurator (linked in my previous post), and it seems to have everything you could need in there. It even has an "Upload Firmware.." option in the menu. Very cool. I can even run this on my Linux machine.... :)

Be sure to check to see if the LinkSys 802.11g cards will work (I assume the pc card that you were looking at were LinkSys). There was/are some early reports about vendors 802.11g products not playing nicely together.

I know we all like to support Apple, but I recommend you take the Airport back and get the Linksys 802.11g router. It's half the price of Apple's Airport and works just as well.

However, you shouldn't have a problem using the linksys cards with apple's base station nor should you have a problem using airport cards with a linksys wifi router.

We use apple airport 802.11b cards with our linksys wireless 802.11g router. I really don't think you'll have any problems.

Goodluck!
