Just wanted to let you guys know that it is very well possible to replace the main fan in your tray loading mac. The origional fan was getting noisy and annoying so i decided to replace it. I choose the Arctic Cooling AF9225 Fan because of the liquid bearing system that makes them extremely reliable and silent. It also cools better then the origional fan. Any fan with the size 92x92x25 will do. I cut the cables that lead to the fan and re-attached them with connectors with those white thingys with screws in them (don't know the name).
My imac has never been this silent. Probably also cause i replaced the origional HD with a new one, a 30GB maxtor. I am really happy again
