[brumccart]

Ahh code...if only I knew. I have a g4 MDD 1.25 GHZ with 1.75 gig RAM. I have reinstalled Panther 10.3.5 [and FCP 4.1, both from stand alone disks] and yet every time I close out of FCP 4.1, it crashes, [UNEXPECTEDLY QUIT] and corrupts the preference files. Trashing the preference files doesn't solve the reoccuring problem. When I try to open up FCP again, I get the beachball, [FCP doesn't open], then I get the following crash log below :

I wouldn't be at all surprised if you both ahve some bad 3rd party memory. Try removing any added ram, leaving only the original Apple ram. See if you can recreate your problem.

The ram is the apple ram that came with the computer!! 1G.
I'm going to try disabling all my securities and try again.
I know Pro Tools M-Powered 7 will not operate when File Vault is on-...
that only took me 3 days to figure out that there actually was a support QA regarding that on their website...

Let me know if there are any other ideas....
