its a grey colour system-specific- it ame with the computer when i bought it second hand
it is the first one of a pair 10.4.10 2z691-6022/23-A

Does the model of Macintosh computer printed on the front of the CD/DVD match the model of Macintosh you're trying to install it on?

I have a sneaking suspicion that whomever sold you the computer included system-specific Mac OS X Install/Restore CDs/DVDs that were not specific to the model of Macintosh being sold.

The gray-colored Install/Restore CDs/DVDs that come with Macintosh computers cannot be used on a different model of Macintosh -- for example, the gray-colored CDs/DVDs that come with an Apple MacBook cannot be used to install Mac OS X on an iMac, or, for that matter, even a MacBook Pro. They can only be used on the MacBook.
