Dear Team,
Since months I have a growing and upsetting problem:
G4 / OSX 10.3.2
When I use the space bar or Apple on the keyboard in any writing program or short cut in other software programs, my computer switches itself off. I can wake it up by moving with the mouse a little bit or repressing the space bar. Going Broad band the problem gets even worse and in word program too.
After a few times repeating this problem, the computer either freezes or a sign comes up on the monitor: Please restart the computer.
In the morning when the computer was switched off the whole night, it appears less. However after 90 min. in full use the problem appears more and more. At the end it is impossible to write something down.
I have been creating a new user, as recommended, but after 2 days it came back. I have been using the disc doctor to see if there is any major problem. Sometimes it says, there is something wrong with the B-Tree.
Has this got something to do with this? Or are thes two separate problems?
Why is it working better when the computer as been switched off for a while?
Or is it a contact problem with the keyboard itself?
First it was just the Apple on the keyboard, after a month extended to the space bar.
Word Program keeps crashing too.
Pleased help me, what shall I do?
Best regards
Madi
