Keyboard Function Key Issue in PowerBook

I am using a PB G3 Pismo with OS X 10.1.1. I used to be able to use my Function keys as straight function keys (F1, F2, etc.) without having to press the "fn" key in the bottom left corner of my keyboard.
Today, I booted into X from OS 9, which I've done a hundred times, and all of a sudden, now I have to press the "fn" key to use my F1, F2.... keys.

I cannot find the setting for this in the Keyboard Preference Pane, like it is in OS 9. Any ideas on how to change this setting?

I had the same problem on my Pismo recently. What you need to do is boot into OS 9 and use the Keyboard control panel from there. That should set it back to the behaviour you want.
