Keyboard Keys Keep Wearing Off!

I have an iBook G4, which I bought in May 2005. A few months ago, I had to have my keyboard replaced because four letter keys were wearing off. And now, my D key is half gone. And the E key looks like it's heading in that direction as well. I will have to have yet another keyboard replacement before my warranty expires. The keyboard functions great, no mechanical problems with the computer whatsoever. It's purely cosmetic, but still ... you pay this kind of money and it should be perfect. Anyone else have this problem?

If that was happening to me, I wouldn't have reason for concerns. I don't even look at the keyboard, anyway. I did experience that sort of thing with my iBook G3 900, though, but I'm pretty sure it happened after the one-year warranty period. I've had my PowerBook 12" 1.33Ghz for about 18 months, and all keys are still well-labeled.

I don't look at the keys either, but still ... it bothers me when I pay good money for something and it's not perfect.

I hear you. When I got my PowerBook, one dead pixel almost killed my joy.

I gotta hand it to Apple, though. A year and a half later, I still love my baby, dings, dents and all.

Never use your keyboard without rubbers on your fingers! Practice safe typing every time! I prefer Kimono MicroThins, but if you're an extremely vigorous typist, go for Trojan TwistedPleasures.

Heh, I actually looked up "Kimono MicroThins." I imagine typing with those things would be very hard! I guess we'll find out when I get my shipment...
