Keychain help

I'm fed up of entering my keychain password everytime I restart my mac (for Safari and Entourage), I'm sure i didn't have to do this when I initially brought the machine and I don't have to do this at work. I'm using OSX 10.3.9. How can I turn the prompt off?

Were it I, every data/pref file with the word keychain would be nuked.

As near as I can tell, Keychain Repair doesn't.

Just start afresh.

If your Mac isn't portable and is a secure location, I could see wanting to disable the password protection, or at least make it more transparent. In any other case, you should be happy with this layer of security, and be looking for others!

If you'd like to leave Keychain behind as a general method of storing and organizing passwords and other sensitive information, I suggest you take a look at Web Confidential, which I've been using enthusiastically for four or five years now.

OK. I've been reading several of these keychain-issue threads and none have solved my issue.

I just bought a used ibook, g3, and it is running 10.4.7.

I would like to disable the pop-up window asking for my keychain p/w whenever I'm running Safari. Now I just hit cancel and it goes away, but it is annoying.

From the install disk I set up a whole new administrator account and p/w. I ran the keychain utilities and deleted every keychain I could find. All I have in there are x509 certificates.

It is only a nuisance, not really a problem, but is there something else I need to do? I'd be happy to run the install again if that's what it takes.

I don't encounter this, and I think it's because I have the Keychain get unlocked automatically on login. You could try this by changing your prefs in Keychain Access.
