SYSTEM PROFILE INFO:
running Tiger 10.4.4 and Keynote 2 on a 600Mhz dual USB iBook
PROBLEM: (Began having problems using Keyspan Presentation Remote after upgrading to KN2 and 10.4.4); when using the "black screen" keystroke feature in KN2, the presentation would freeze when I returned to the presentation from the "black screen" mode. Behavior was NOT consistent. Sometimes it would simply be frozen on the last slide; other times it would start the next bullet animation, then suddenly stop the animation and then freeze. In any case, I cannot use the "black screen" feature without freezing my presentation.
I thought the problem was with the Keyspan Remote. Tried USB Overdrive software to fix; no results.
Then, I discovered that I have the exact problem using my iBook keyboard! Same problems resuming from "black screen" mode: freezing or partial bulleted text followed by freeze. Obviously, the problem is with either KN2 and my iBook (too slow? too old?) or something else.
I'd appreciate help as the "black screen" feature is HUGE to my teaching; it allows me to divert my students' gaze AWAY from the screen and back to me for a normal classroom atomosphere. It is one of the key benefits to me over PowerPoint.
