Hi all
how I can know the language machine of the function "stop computer"?
exemple: ascii/hex ecc...

system Masc 0s x 10.4

thanks

I'm not sure what you're asking for.

To stop the computer, go to the Apple menu, and choose "Shut Down...".

Programatically you could call the "halt" or "shutdown" command in the shell. I can't imagine many situations in which you would actually do this though.

I believe there is also a graceful shutdown command in AppleScript, in case you want to setup your Mac to run a series of scripted tasks and then turn itself off when finished.

You want to write a worm?

I wondered the same thing. But then, I also wondered if the message was some sort of auto-generated spam. Then, I just figured that Niccollo just wasn't too clear on what they were asking for. Either way, there's no "hex code" or "language machine" that I've ever heard of that would do anything on a mac.

thanks for your resposte answer.
I must put in stop minimac from one a consul AMX NI700 through ethernet.
I must find the string exact to send to the mac.

I can star my computer whit the MAGIC PACKET program. it sends one serial string via ethernet that start the machine. the serial string is: "FFhx6,number machine x 16".
it is possible that there is one serial string in order to put in sleep the computer. but I do not know which he is.
