Laptop shutting down

Laptop shuts down when the battery is at 35% with no warning! Any idea of what to do? Thank you!

Need a bit more information such as the brand of laptop, OS, processor, RAM, and, especially, the relative age of the battery.

Sometimes they need to be recalibrated.

Now, does the laptop shutdown-shutdown or when you connect it to the power supply does it start right up?

Use coconutBattery to see the health of your battery. This way you might know if it went south and you need a new battery.
