laserjet 4mv won't print from indesign c

Please be a lot more verbose and specific about your problem. It would be annoying at the very least to have to play "20 questions" with you to get information from you.

Please specify what kind of Mac you have, what version of OS X you're running, what version of the hp drivers you're using, how the hp laserjet is hooked to your computer (ethernet? usb?), what error message you get from InDesign, whether you've ever been able to successfully print to the laserjet from InDesign, etc.

Any and all information beyond that you think would be helpful in diagnosing the problem, by all means, please don't hold it back.
 
Ok so your aging printer wont support direct printing, simple fix, make pdf's first then print or upgrade your printer to a later version that support Indesign's complex print files.

I disagree,
Most older printers cannot handle the complex data that Indesign throw at them, but PDF file format simplify that data and make it easier for older printers to digest.
