Launch java Application Error w Leopard

Install of 10.5 went fine except keep on getting the following reappearing:
Cannot launch java application
Uncaught exception in main method:
java.lang.NoSuchMethodError:
javax.security.sasl.Sasl.setSasIserverFactory(Ljavax/
security/saslServerFactoryV

This is in a dialog box with a quit button. Upon quiting it just reappears.

I did a clean install then migration assistant.

Leopard is not (yet) compatible with the latest version of Java.

What does that mean? What am I supposed to do? Not everyone is getting this message.
