LCD iMac coming 2002?

we;ve seen such rumors in the past.
I dont think it will happen (any time soon) since it will probably cost A LOT.

Then again I could be wrong...oohh..how I wanna be wrong about this ;)

Anyone have any idea what this would look like? Would it still be one peice? I am somehow picturing a base where the computer and cd are and then a 1 inch screen extending from the top. It would certainly save a lot of space and look pretty tight but I have no idea if this is correct. I guess I'll probably have to wait and first see if it comes out at all before accesorizing.
 
Wow, makes me all tingly inside. A nice article but still no concrete date as to when they will come out. 'Sometime' in 2002 is good to hear but not necessarily anytime in the near future (San Francisco)

"The Imac is redesigned, including an integrated LCD-screen, full-space keyboard and mouse." Maybe colour stickers are a good choice to change the keyboard-design as you prefer. The great advantage of buying an Imac is that the Imac is quiet.
 
didn't I hear something about the screen being detachable and useable as a sort of tablet. Could be a new niche. even sell the tablets by themselves. I guess you can tell I still love my Newton....Just wish it could be updated with a PocketX OS
 
It will have a 1ghz processor like the new Powermac and have the same options(about cd,cdrw,dvd,combo) as the iBook.
 
If such a thing as a flat panel iMac is released it may as well be called a different style of laptop. If you pack the electronics behind the screen then you have a very thick flat panel. The logic board and components from laptops will keep the space requirements low.
 
I have a Macally mouse and USB-keyboard from First for it. So, I can change such a thing anyways for personal use.
