Legacy Scanner Problem

Good morning.

I have a Mustek 1200 USB flatbed scanner which I purchased several years ago (when I had a Windows PC - yikes!). As far as scanners go, I am happy with the quality (for my needs) and do not really want to buy another because it works fine.

However, now that I have a Powerbook I notice that the scanner is not recognised by the MAC when connected to the USB port.

I looked at the Mustek site but there are no MAC drivers for this product.

Can you anyone advise if there is any way to get this scanner recognised by a Macintosh (albeit as a sort of generic device)?

You probably won't be able to use this scanner on your Mac. VueScan from Hamrick Software is what is used to drive scanners on OS X for a lot of folks, but they don't support Mustek scanners.
