I used to use afloat on 10.4.x, but it no longer works on 10.5.

Any ideas on alternative solutions?

"Basically I need Textmate to always stay on top, so I can read documentation in the background. So even if I clicked on the browser in the background and scrolled down, I would still have textmate on top of the browser"

There's no real need for what you want to do. You can now scroll windows in the background applications in Leopard simply by putting the mouse cursor over the window and using the scroll wheel on your mouse or the 2 finger scrolling on the laptops.

Background scrolling does not work for all applications. For instance if word is in the background you cannot scroll it.

Windowshade X will solve your problem as soon as it is released for Leopard.

Unsanity are hard at work to bring Windowshade X to Leopard, it's the second thing in priority after APE, so it shouldn't be too long before it is released.
