Lexmark 7170 and Tiger problems

Hi
I just upgraded my ibook G4 with Tiger and now I cannot print using my Lexmark all in one 7170 printer. I have tried downloading the driver from the site and it won't install. When I try to print, it says "problems communicating with the printer". Does anyone have any suggestions. I have rebooted, tiger, reinstalled the installation disc and nothing seems to work. thanks

I notice that Lexmark explicitly states that it supports MacOS X 10.3. It does not explicitly support MacOS X 10.4. Your task is to determine whether or not this is more than just an oversight.

I couldn't say where MisterMe got his info, but this page - http://www.lexmark.com/uncomplicate/sequentialem/home/0,7070,204816596_478043141_475799647_en,00.html seems to show compatibility with Tiger.
You may try to download the driver from the link on that page. You may have a corrupted download from the first time.

I stand corrected. Unfortunately, not all of Lexmark's webpages are synchronized.

I have installed drivers for about a dozen different Lexmark printers for the Mac. So, I can say with some confidence that, with Lexmark, you don't always get a good (Mac) printer driver. There is a reasonable list of Lexmark that are included with Tiger, with no install needed, but those also are of variable quality in my experience.
