Limited number of files in folder? (Mac os X 10.2.6)

Hi,
I was trying to save a file in a folder that had about 200 files in it, and got an error message that did not allow me to proceed. Is this a feature to protect cluttering that can be blocked off?

I have several folders with 200+ files in them. I doubt this is your problem.
