What is the longest video clip you have ever captured and output in iMovie 2? is it possible to capture clips as long as 1.5 hours? I have a ton of VHS tapes i'm looking to transfer over, and i cant think of learning FCP to do it... (im using a DV converter box to get the VHS into the Mac)

just wondering if iMovie can do something this big. will i have a ton of dropped frames? will it crash?

also... could iDVD output clips that size back to dvd?

would 512 mb ram be enough to do this? i would be on a friend's computer as i have no SuperDrive. (they do)

any info that you have on this is super appreciated!

Be careful about going and buying a video camera thinking that you'll be able to do that though. My Canon ZR20 has analog inputs, but I have to record to tape and then output through FireWire. I finally broke down and bought a Formac Studio.

BTW the Studio's Tevion software from Formac for OS X lets you capture to one big file as big as you want, well at least up to the 10GB files I've captured so far.
