Linksys BEFSR41 Static Routing

How do I set up my LinkSys BEFSR41 to do static routing?

I want to be able to keep the same ip address on my Mac (192.168.1.100) and have it never change. Just changing the tcp/ip information to manuel and entering the information is not enough.

Thanks for any help.

I believe you also have to make a change to the router's configuration.

There's a web interface to the BEFSR41 that allows you to change it's settings. I don't remember the URL (I'm not at home right now), but you can find it in the Linksys documentation.

You don't want to change the static routing though - that is something completely different. The static IP setting you want is on the very first page you will pull up when you go to http://192.168.1.1. There is a drop down menu that allows you to choose the type of connection - choose Static IP then enter your IP address (note this will be your WORLD-VIEWABLE IP address - not an IP like 192.168.1.100 - that is not proper for outside world).
