I've been having intermittent problems with my new Linksys WRT150N and iBook G4. Yes, I know it's only 802.11g, and I've configured my router accordingly.
The problem is that my iBook occasionally, seemingly randomly (not at DHCP lease expiration, certain network traffic, firewall hits, connection...) drops off the network. I can sometimes see my network, sometimes not. Sometimes the Airport menu item list is empty, sometimes it's populated by all networks other than mine. I initially suspected a problem with my WRT54G v6 on which I had installed DD-WRT v23 SP2, same problem, but as I'm experiencing the same problem with this new, completely different router, I'm beginning to suspect a problem with my iBook.
Specifically, I'm wondering if there is some kind of incompatability with the WPA2 architecture used by Airport and Windows machines (say, standard key size, or standard implementation, or lack thereof).
The initial connection sometimes times out after 2 seconds with the wifi light on the router never blinking (seems to me that the iBook isn't transmitting at all, even trying to authenticate on the network).
Has anyone else had issues like this on either a WRT54G or WRT150N?
PS Wired always works just fine, always. (Only, I have to plug it through my SIP phone, which kind of sucks because it kills my phone).
