Linux Binary Compatibility

FreeBSD and OpenBSD both include special extensions for Linux, Solaris and some other *nixes binary compatibility. Do you think such a thing could be implemented in OS X? The programmers thought of OS 9 application compatibility but what about the Unix side? A little built-in emulation wouldn't be bad.
Also, I am thinking of a small program which could fix any Unix sourcecode so that it possibly can compile flawlessly under OS X (of course, there are things where it would be really hard to fix it, but at least basic stuff could be done). Any comments?

This s basically what MkLinux does, run Linux apps on a Mach kernel, so yes it's posible and perhaps even trivial to the right person |-)
