loading OS10.3 onto ibook

I have an ibook - two years old - running O10.0.2, and an imac G3 running 10.3
Some of my digital camera software only works with 10.1 onwards. My question is, can I load 10.3 onto my ibook, enabling me to make my digital camera slideshow portable? The caerma software states that it should work with 10.0.2, but it doesn't.

Hi Mary,

The iBook will be able to run 10.3. Technically you'd need as many licences as many copies as you are running.

The update from 10.0 to 10.1 was free wasn't it? You might be able to acquire a copy if you ask the Guys at your local AppleStore. Not as good as 10.3, but Legal.

It was free ($29.95 shipping and handling) for roughly four months after the release of 10.1. After that offer expired it cost the same $129 that Panther costs today and that Tiger will when it is released. As a result of all the screaming from users who missed the "free upgrade" window, Apple is very unlikely to ever repeat that mistake.

The 10.1 upgrade was free if you physically went and asked for a copy of it from a supplier. I drove 35 miles north to a CompUSA store to get my copy, they just handed it to me when I asked (never asked for the upgrade coupon or anything). If you ordered it from Apple, then you had the $30 shipping charge.

You could check around on E-Bay (half.com area) or through some of the online retailers (powerlogix.com, macresq.com, etc.) and find copies of 10.1 and 10.2 for the $30 to $50 range.
