Hi guys.
I have a static dsl at home, and I host my mail and web on it.

When I am home, I have to point my mail to 10.0.0.3 (the local PC's LAN IP), and when I'm at work, I have to change it to mail.mydomain.com.

What can i change on my iBook that will let me simply use one setting?

It seems like in windows, I simply added something like:

10.0.0.3 www.mydomain.com

in a 'hosts' file...whats the equiv in OS X?

Do you have a DNS server on your linux box ?
If this is the case, you should try to add a mail server in the SOA declaration.
I have about the same installation : a dls line, and a web/ftp/ssh server on it. The server is the DNS of the LAN, and it refers to an internet DNS for no-lan adresses. With this config, I can access my server via its internet adress both from internet and the lan.

If you do not have a DNS, there is a local host file on mac os X in /etc. You should try typing man hosts.

I hope this helps ...
