localhost very slow.

I run some PHP / MySQL sites on the net, and also have them locally on my OS X 10.4.5

I have 2 problems:

1.When I open a local site it's taking long before it's loading (connecting "site") Long time is about 1o seconds.

2. When it opens I always get permission problems on one of the files. If I repair / set the permission again, and make 2 - 3 refresh it comes up ok???

On the live server I don't have any problems.

Any ideas?

Ps. I'm not a good UNIX guy so I run Webmin if I can to fix things. Ds.

Do you experience the same slowdown if you use 127.0.0.1 instead of "localhost"?

A ahrd question as I have it DNS (I think it's called) configured so I type http://name and not the whole URL as http://localhost/name
