localtalk printer network

First you need a hardware localtalk/ethernet bridge to physically connect it. There are several of these available, but honestly, it wouldn't be much more expensive to just buy a USB printer.

However, if you have the bridge hardware and have installed any driver software needed, you should only need to turn on Appletalk under System Preferences / Network.

Someone I knew had an older copier (10K) which onyl had a localtalk interface. He did nto print to it often and balked at the $500 the manufacturer wanted for an ethernet card.

I dusted off an old Performca he had under his desk (which had been upgraded to ethernet), instaled this software and all the client could see the printer without problems.

There was one catch (maybe this is what's tripping you up). The printer had to be completely boote up before the performa was turned on and the mac clients has to be turned on after that.

I have not tried it in OSX, but as long as the printer is a PS printer it should work, just watch the boot order.
