A friend of mine who is travelling Europe at the moment has a problem logging into her laptop which see describes below. Can anybody give her suggestions or advice sorting this problem out please?

At startup I get a circle with the line through it, instead of the Apple. It never boots. When I start up from my restore disks it can't locate the harddrive or any harddrive attached to it, so I can't even boot from another HD with the OS on it. I'm running hardware test right now but it's passing everything. In London they changed out the memory and ran diskwarrior and that fixed it, but I think it's a deeper problem. It could be the logic board but it's passing the hardware test, so I don't know.
