Logging into my OSX account via Remote?

Sogni

*gone*
I know Apple makes a Remote Desktop program but it seems to only be for use with other Macs...

Is there a way that I can log into my account and fully interact with my account on the OSX (10.2 Server) machine from my Windows client?

Tried VNC but it was too bugy 'n unstable - plus it took control of the ENTIRE system, not just my account (but I'm willing to use this if someone knows of a stable version).

Is there such a thing like Microsoft's Remote Desktop / Terminal Services in reverse?

I need a PowerBook so bad it isn't even funny! Oh wait - yes it is! hehe :D

As far as I know the only options are VNC, or Remote Desktop.

Remote desktop only works with other Macs. But before Remote Desktop you had to use VNC!!!

What we really need is for Apple to release a remote desktop client for windows... Wonder if we'll ever see that happen?

Actually there is also some program called Timbuktu, but I'm not to sure what it does.

Try Timbuktu... it works on PC's and Mac's and does remote desktop and file transferring. I don't use it, but my friend does and he swears by it.

VNC is nice when you are trying to remotely see a UNIX desktop as in FreeBSD, Linux, Solaris... but if you are only interested in Mac to Mac, or PC to mac, give Timbuktu a try...

Haxial has just recently released Remote Admin Tool , and it has both mac/win versions out...dunno about comparison to other such utilities, but it's lightweight and at least looks promising..

I downloaded and tried Timbuktu, not exactly what I'm looking for but it's stable and will do for the time being (altho it is trial ware and I have not looked at the pricing yet - wonder if I can convince the boss that we need this?).

I'll look and give Remote Admin Tool a try in a little bit...

thanks! :)
