Hey Now Foks,
My Mac boots up (15", 1.67Ghz, 512Ram, running OsX 10.4), and after inputting my user name and password at the login screen, it stops at the blue screen with a movable pointer without going any further.... I have accidently changed permissions and/or ownership of the Volume that my Home Directory lies in, and have tried "Repair Permissions" (from OsX disc also), "Change Owner", and "Change Mods" in Terminal, without exactly know what I am doing, and without fixing the problem....I have even done an archive and install, and it does the same thing and I think I may have changed it around even more than before.
I have tried everything on the Apple support site I could find, with no avail....I even set my Mac in Target Firewire mode, pulled up my Home Directory, and changed permissions back to the default, using the "Get Info", and it still doesnt work....
All my stuff is still there, when I run disk utility, I still have the same amount of free space, (and unfree space that I had before)....
Someone Please help! I need my Mac Back!
I also have another 12" G3 that I can use, as well as a FireWire if this could help me....
If anyone assist me in getting this problem solved, I would be eternally grateful.....
Thank you for reading this...
