Long file names on Win2K srvr no show!

At work I've got OS X connecting to a Win2K server. I cannot store, enter or send long file names to this machine. Long file names CAN be created on the server itself or from another PC over the network, but not my Mac via OS X or OS 9.

Is there some setting that will fix this on either the server or the Mac? I really need to be able to save long file names on the server.
