Long filename support conflict with server 2000

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone was having issues with long filename support in 0sx 10.4.4 when dragging files with long names on to a server running windows server 2000. It pops up an error message and won't let me copy. Any help you guys could give me would be great.

What's the exact name of the file that's causing the problems? Could it be that there is an illegal character in the filename?

Wow... jiggly mouse finger produces bad results... Can an admin delete, say, 3 of those multiple posts?

No, It's happened with several files, and none of them seem to have any unreadable characters in them. It only seems to happen with the folders that are restricted access, meaning that people can drop files in, but can't take them out. I have another shared folder on the same partition that has no restrictions, and It seems to be fine. We didn't have this issue with earlier versions of OSx, with the exact same server 2000 setup, so it may have something to do with 10.4.4 specifically.
