To be honest I had the bad habit to copy the music files with itunes on the ipod and deleting the 'originals' of the HD so they don't waste any space.
Tomorrow I am going to buy the 'new' 3rd generation 15GB ipod. But I need a way to backup the playlists and the music files. I know the directory containing the music files is invisible and I also know various UNIX comands. But before I screw anything up, could someone provide a save way to backup these files? Is it even possible to copy it to my ibook HD and rolling it back to the new 15Gig ipod without loosing all the playlists? Has anybody done this before?
