Looking for slot loading imac for my son's xmas

I am hoping to find an older slot loading imac to give my 12 yo son for xmas. It would be his 1st computer. So far all the ones i have seen have cost almost as much as the low end new ones - like they are some sort of collector's item or something. I was hoping to spend less than $500 w/printer - no other periperpherals really needed. Color is not an issue. I would probably want it shipped directly to him in ohio but that is negotiable.

Looking at your specs in your sig you may be better off sending him yours and upgrading yourself to a newer mac.

ive been wanting to sell my iMac 400 mhz...

I'd have to clear it with my dad though
If I'm able to, I'd include base stuff like

400 MHZ iMac DV
10.1.1 or 9.2.1 or both
Slot loading DVD
10 GB HD
64 or 128 MB RAM
no printer =|

and with the money added to my $350 in savings, I hope to get a B/W G3 or G4 off ebay or something

well, i'm interested in learning more but would prefer to deal with your dad as well if we get serious about it. I didn't reply sooner because i thought i was going to have to spend a big chunk of the money on replacing my firewire drive but i eventually saved it.
