lost access to iTunes library

A fellow worker just came in and let me know that he can no longer get to his iTunes library... an error message comes up telling him that it is either locked or he has no premission to access it...

he has been using it daily and in fact used it only hours before... he's become something of a DJ now that he has a new iPod Mini (we call him Wolfman jack... hmmm dating myself?)... anyway, I checked the permissions on his Library and he is in fact the owner, and it isn't locked... he plugged his mini back in but still can't open up his library

his library is 84K, and his music folder is about 400Mb...

anybody have any ideas?

If he updated his iTunes to 4.7 there is a known issue with reading songs, I think. Has he tried accessing his iPod through another computer? He could try opening iTunes first, then plugging in the iPod. You could set it to either automatically open, or not, depending on what the program is currently set to when you plug in the iPod.
