lost Dock

My dock wont show up on my desktop. I already tried trashing dock.plist
I also cant do a lot of functions like drop and dragging files from windows in my finder. I tried trashing finder plist too.
Im on an old PowerMac G5. Any ideas?

First thing, repair permissions and then restart your computer:

I highly recommend you also download TinkerTool from Versiontracker.com. It allows you to quit and restart the Finder which sometimes resolves these weird dock and desktop icon issues.

Let us know if this fixes it!

Also do the key combo for "Show/Hide Dock", I think it's command + shift + D.

So does a simple 'option+command+esc', stop and relaunch the Finder.

You have to click the finder icon to restart it in that case.

Tinker tool also gives you control over your dock, and you can restart it as well.
