Lost the network icon

I am a brand new PowerBook G4 user. I was trying to set up my network with the Windows 2003 network system at the school where I work. I was in the finder window with The Macintosh HD icon on the left and the Network icon on the left. I drug the Notebook icon and it disappeared. I restarted the computer trying to recover the network icon. Does anyone know how to get the network icon back?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Open the Finder Preferences under the Finder Menu>Sidebar - check Network.

Bob, Thank You So Much For Your Help. I Am Relieved, Now If I Can Get Connected To Our Windows Network!

You can also get to it from the Finder's Go menu. Also, from the Finder's Go menu, you can select the Computer item and a window with your Network and other drives will be be displayed. You can then drag the Network icon back over to your sidebar. You can drag any other items to the sidebar as well, sort of like the Dock.
