Lost "thumbnail picture view"

I recently renamed my home folder not realizing all that it would cause. I have since investigated, recovered, and fixed most major problems. However, I have lost the ability to view any of my jpg, jpeg, png, etc. files in the "picture icon thumbnail view". All that I get now is a "stock generic icon view". I am a vector graphics artist and must have the ability to preview my pics with a picture thumbnail.

If anyone can help me with this very aggravating problem I've caused myself, it would be greatly appreciated.
